My Special Place

The three hour drive was diffidently worth it. As we drove into the mountains I smelled that fresh air the smell of pine trees and real nature. We finally got to our cabin which was surrounded by trees and as quiet as can be. Also the most peaceful place I could think of at the moment. After we were unloaded and settled in I went and sat on our cool shady porch to listen to the faint noise of nature. It was mid afternoon, warm, and comfortable with a cool breeze every few minutes. From my seat I could heard the entire tree branches move with the wind, the calls of the birds, and the scampering of squirrels in trees. It was better than a spa to just sit in the nature but still be close to civilization.

In my cozy chair with soft cushions there I was reading a book in complete silence. It was so quiet that a deer and her babies passed without even noticing that I was there or even our cabin for that matter, but if they had they seemed not to care. The only reason they came this close to people was because of the need for food and water. They passed me and my glance followed them as they crossed the road. The mother looked strong and independent the babies helpless and hungry. I felt sad and knew if I were in that situation I hope some one would help me so I threw them some of my turkey sandwich it wasn’t much but I knew it would help. I felt like I had done a good dead when they ate it and kept on walking and then I left my spot. After a day of running around, swimming, and a lot of sun at the local lake we came home to eat dinner and after. I went back to my place just to look at the stars. Being so far away from the city there were tons of stars they were so amazing and beautiful. Then a shooting bursted through the sky and I had to make my wish. I think I fell asleep out on my porch that night. How could I not it was so peaceful and beautiful out I didn’t want to go inside. But thank god my dad carried me in or I would have been eaten alive by bugs. The next day I slept in tired from my long day, and when I woke it was time to leave. I dreaded it but, I packed my stuff and got in the car. For one last time before we left took it all in the smells the sights everything, and with that we drove away. I looked back and it was gone everything I love about my place in Twain Harte. The smallest cutest town in the mountains. But I knew I would be back soon.

A Look in to the Past

It had been a long day out on lake Berriessa the water was warm and the breeze was just right. Me my brother and my dad were all tired and ready to eat. once the boat was unloaded we headed up the stairs away from the dock, and up towards our cabin.

Right in the middle of the stair case we heard a rattling noise and thought it was just a bug in the tree so we kept moving and then out of no where sprung a dimond back rattle snake right next to my dad’s foot he jumped down the stairs to get as far away from the snake as possible while me and my brother ran for help. we had gone to the closest person we could find our neighbor Chick.

I was out of breath when he opened the door so my brother said,”their is a rattle snake under the stairs and it going to bite our dad,”! Chick answered,” ill go get a shovel and be right there,”! Once we heard his answer we ran back to the stairs andwaited for him. As soon as Chick got there my dad and him developed a plan chick would quietly go down the stairs and get behind the snake and stab it with the shovel while my dad distracted it. There was a chance that this plan may not work but they we going to have to try or else the snake would try to take a chunk out of my dads leg if stabed at.

With one swift movement the shovel went right through the snakes body and cut it in half. The two halves of the body squirmed helplessly.I screamed and almost threw up at the sight of this. We decided that we should throw the sakes body into the lake but before that we cut of the tail becuase if anyone were to step on it it could enject the snakes venim in to you.

So to remind us of this moment in our lives we tied the snakes tail on to a piece of fishing line and tied it to a rail on our deck. eventhough we do not have the tail anymore we will always remember what happened that day and how we solved the issue.
